William Thornley

William Thornley was a painter of shipping and coastal scenes. He lived in Rochester in Kent and painted on both the East and South Coasts. He is now thought to have also worked under the pseudonyms William Thornberry, Thornbery and Thornbury - a practise which was fashionable amongst some Victorian artists.He exhibited three works, including "Moonlight" and "A Misty Day in the Pool" at The Society of British Artists.
