Simon Ludwig Ditlev Simonsen

Simon Ludvig Ditlev Simonsen was an animal and figure painter. He specialised in painting dogs and horses.Although he was Danish Simon Simonsen was born in Munich, on the 19th January 1841. He was the son and pupil of the artist S. Niels and continued his artistic education at the Art Academy in Copenhagen. Simonsen also studied under Auguste Bonheur in Chevreuse. He died in Copenhagen on the 27th February 1928.
