Paul Emile Lecomte

1877 - 1950

Born in Paris, Paul Emile Lecomte was the pupil of his father Paul (1842-1920) and Cormon. Although most of his subjects were French landscapes and coast scenes, predominantly of Brittany, he also worked in Cornwall, and painted still life. He became a Member of the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1902, and received a Gold Medal. He was also an official artist for the Maritime Ministry.
