Javier Mulio

Born 1957

Javier Mulio was born on December 24, 1957 in Alcoy, Alicante, Spain.
Mulio was brought up within the artistic community of Alcoy and this influence encouraged him to take up painting at the age of fourteen.

At the age of eighteen he began his formal training in art and studied under the Spanish artist and teacher Mila Gomez in Alcoy from 1973-76. Mulio began painting professionally after he completed his schooling in 1978. Since this time he has regularly exhibited at galleries in Spain, France, the United Kingdom and the USA to critical acclaim.

Mulio has an almost hyper-realist style of painting. Simple still life compositions of glass, fruit and liquid with exquisite lighting in uncomplicated surroundings. His paintings reflect a timeless serenity and are always carefully balanced in colour, shape and texture. He has dedicated his life to painting still life using the techniques of the Dutch Masters but with a more contemporary use of colour and elements.
The works of Javier Mulio are in private and corporate collections throughout the Far East, Europe and the Americas.
