Georges Frederic Rotig

1873 - 1961

Primarily an animal painter of the French School, George Frédéric Rötig was born in Le Havre on 1st October 1873.

He studied in Paris where his tutors included B. Constant, J. Lefebvre and Jean Paul Laurens. From 1894 Rötig exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français to much acclaim and he was awarded several prestigious prizes and medals in 1902, 1904 and the Prix Rosa Bonheur in 1913.
