Caleb Robert Stanley

1795 - 1868

Caleb Robert Stanley was a landscape and topographical painter working in oil and watercolour.

He was an Honorary Exhibitor at the Royal Academy between the years 1816-63, but he mainly exhibited at the British Institution (in total showing 87 works), the Society of British Artists, Suffolk Street, the Old Watercolour Society and the New Watercolour Sociey (RI).

Paintings by Stanley are held in the public collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum and the National Gallery, Dublin. He was also the father of artists Archer Stanley and Charles H Stanley. Back to list
