Bernard McDonald
Born 1944
Although painting was his first love, Bernard McDonald worked for many years in the electronics industry and it was only in mid 1980s that he became a full time artist. Likened by many to the great Edwardian artists Scott Tuke, Melville and Rose Barton, Bernard says that his greatest influence is the work of the Glasgow School.Whilst he is entirely self-taught, he has had several one man shows which, without exception, have been complete sell outs and his paintings now hang in many collections. This evocative picture of Cala Figuera in Mallorca was exhibited by the John Noott Gallery in 2001.
