Benno Adam

1812 - 1892

Benno Adam, a German artist, was born in Munich on 15th July 1812. He died in Kellein on 9th March 1892.

He was the son and pupil of Albrecht Adam (1786-1862). Adam achieved a reputation for painting animals, particularly German breeds of dogs. Many of his animal studies were popularised as lithographs.
