Biography
Hermann Meyerheim was born into a highly artistic family that lived in Berlin in the 18th and 19th centuries.  His father, Friedrich Meyerheim (1780-1837), was a painter and decorative designer and his three brothers were also artists.

Hermann painted landscapes and seascapes but he is best known for his architectural subjects which he painted with great skill.  He travelled throughout Germany painting views of many cities including Danzig, Leipzig and Bremen.  He was a contemporary of Ludwig Hermann (1812-1881) whom he knew and the artists had similar styles and subject matter.

Meyerheim exhibited regularly in Berlin from 1864 and his work was well received.
